Experience
- Took the Pasir Gudang complex from 14 lost-time injuries a year to zero across 31 consecutive months, without changing the reporting threshold.
- Rebuilt the permit-to-work system after an audit found 40 percent of hot-work permits were being signed retrospectively.
- Ran the 2021 process-safety review across 4 sites and 2 joint ventures; 9 of 11 recommendations were funded.
- Covered 11 country operations from Perth to Ho Chi Minh City with a team of 6.
- Introduced a contractor pre-qualification standard that removed 23 vendors from the approved list in its first year.
- First safety hire at a 900-person refinery that had been running on a paper system.
- Wrote the emergency response plan still in use, twice tested against live drills.
